Description

These Quick Sticky Buns are the ultimate comfort food, featuring tender, pillowy dough that rises quickly and bakes to a perfect golden brown. The real magic happens in the topping: a luscious mixture of brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup creates a sticky, caramel-like glaze that clings to every bite. Chopped walnuts add a delightful crunch and earthy depth that balances the sweetness beautifully. Simple to assemble with pantry staples, these buns deliver professional bakery results with minimal effort, making them an irresistible treat for breakfast, brunch, or a cozy afternoon snack.

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, warm the milk and 1/4 cup butter over low heat until the butter is melted and the mixture reaches 120 to 130 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, the sugar, salt, yeast, and egg.
  3. Pour the warm milk mixture into the dry ingredients and beat with a mixer on medium speed for 4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the remaining 1 1/4 cups of flour until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30 to 45 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  6. While the dough rises, generously grease 24 muffin cups with butter or cooking spray.
  7. Finely chop the walnuts.
  8. In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, 3/4 cup butter, corn syrup, cinnamon, and chopped walnuts.
  9. Heat the topping mixture over low heat, stirring constantly, until the butter is melted and everything is well combined and smooth.
  10. Divide the warm topping mixture evenly among the prepared muffin cups.
  11. Punch down the risen dough to release air bubbles.
  12. Drop spoonfuls of the dough over the topping in each muffin cup, dividing the dough evenly.
  13. Cover the muffin tin loosely and let the buns rise for another 20 to 30 minutes, until puffy.
  14. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (191°C).
  15. Place the muffin tins on a baking sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown and cooked through.
  16. Let the buns cool in the pans for 5 minutes before removing them to serve warm.
