These Triple-Rich Chocolate Squares are the ultimate dessert for chocolate lovers. Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350F (177C).
  2. Line a 9-inch baking pan with foil, leaving 2-inch overhangs on opposite sides.
  3. In a food processor or blender, process the chocolate sandwich cookies until they form fine crumbs; you should have about 1 1/2 cups.
  4. Transfer the cookie crumbs to the prepared baking pan and press firmly over the bottom to form a crust. Set aside.
  5. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer at high speed to beat the cream cheese, sugar, chocolate drink powder, flour, eggs, and vanilla until just blended and smooth.
  6. Pour the filling over the cookie crust in the pan.
  7. Bake for 25 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft.
  8. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight until firm.
  9. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate chips and vegetable shortening.
  10. Microwave on high (100% power) for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring until melted and smooth.
  11. Dip the tip of a small spoon into the melted chocolate and drizzle in a random pattern over the surface of the chilled square.
  12. Using the foil overhangs as handles, lift the entire square from the pan.
  13. Peel the foil away from the sides of the square and cut into 2-inch squares before serving.

For best results, ensure cream cheese and eggs are at room temperature before mixing to prevent lumps in the filling.

The squares must be chilled thoroughly before cutting to ensure clean slices. Overnight chilling is recommended.

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

You can substitute the chocolate sandwich cookies with Oreo cookies or graham crackers for a different crust flavor.
