Carnivore Beef & Egg Bowl

Difficulty: Intermediate
Servings: 2

Description

A simple bowl of fatty minced beef, eggs and butter that delivers plenty of protein without complicated preparation. This is an economical everyday carnivore meal that can be prepared in around 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced beef and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, breaking the meat apart as it browns.
  3. Season the beef lightly with salt.
  4. Add the butter and stir until melted through the beef.
  5. Make four shallow spaces in the cooked beef and crack an egg into each one.
  6. Reduce the heat, cover the pan and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the egg whites are set and the yolks are cooked to preference.
  7. Divide the beef and eggs between two bowls and spoon the rendered cooking fat over each serving.

Note

Use minced beef containing around 20% fat for better flavour and a more satisfying carnivore meal.

Beef tallow can replace the butter for a dairy-free carnivore version.

The eggs can also be scrambled directly into the cooked beef for a softer, mixed texture.
