Ingredients

Directions

  1. Melt semisweet chocolate, whipping cream, and corn syrup in the top of a double boiler over hot, not boiling, water, whisking until smooth.
  2. Remove chocolate sauce from heat and allow to cool to room temperature.
  3. Let the three containers of ice cream soften at room temperature for 30 minutes to make them easier to spread.
  4. Cover a 10-inch cardboard circle with waxed paper and place it inside an 11-inch springform pan.
  5. Chop the candy bars and chocolate sandwich cookies into small pieces.
  6. Spread the first container of ice cream evenly over the bottom of the prepared pan.
  7. Sprinkle half of the chopped candy bars and cookies over the ice cream layer.
  8. Drizzle 1/2 cup of the cooled chocolate sauce over the toppings.
  9. Repeat the layering process with the second container of ice cream, remaining candy/cookie mixture, and another drizzle of sauce.
  10. Spread the third container of ice cream on top, smoothing the surface.
  11. Drizzle the remaining chocolate sauce over the top layer and sprinkle with toasted slivered almonds.
  12. Freeze the cake for at least 3 hours, or until firm.
  13. Remove the cake from the refrigerator and let it soften for 30 minutes before serving.

Topping Ideas: Add a variety of crispy, caramel, chocolate, and peanut butter flavored candy bars to customize the crunch.

Preparation Tip: Ensure the chocolate sauce is cooled but still pourable before drizzling to prevent it from melting the ice cream layers too quickly.
