Description

This luxurious Kahlua Swirl Fudge combines the classic comfort of homemade candy with the sophisticated kick of coffee liqueur. The base is a smooth, buttery marshmallow and sugar mixture that sets into a melt-in-your-mouth texture. It is divided into two distinct flavors: a rich semi-sweet chocolate layer studded with nuts, and a lighter almond bark swirl infused with strong coffee. The result is a visually stunning, marbled dessert that offers complex flavors in every bite. Perfect for holiday gift boxes, special celebrations, or as an indulgent treat for coffee lovers. Store in the refrigerator to maintain its perfect firmness.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Line a 9-inch square pan with foil, allowing the foil to extend over the sides of the pan, and butter the foil.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, margarine (or butter), and evaporated milk.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  4. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
  5. Stir in the marshmallow creme until the mixture is smooth.
  6. Pour 1 cup of the marshmallow mixture into a small bowl and set aside.
  7. To the small bowl, add the almond bark and strong coffee; stir until smooth.
  8. To the remaining marshmallow mixture in the saucepan, add the chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
  9. Stir in the chopped nuts and coffee-flavored liqueur until well blended.
  10. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan.
  11. Spread the almond bark mixture on top of the chocolate mixture.
  12. Using a spatula, swirl the two layers together to create a marbled effect.
  13. Cool the fudge to room temperature.
  14. Score the fudge into 36 squares.
  15. Refrigerate until firm.
  16. Remove the fudge from the pan by lifting the foil, then peel the foil away.
  17. Using a large knife, cut through the scored lines to separate the squares.

Note

Store the fudge in the refrigerator to maintain its firmness and prevent melting in warm temperatures.

If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, you can omit the coffee liqueur and increase the amount of strong coffee slightly, or use coffee extract.

Ensure you stir the sugar mixture constantly while boiling to prevent burning and ensure even cooking.

For best results, use a candy thermometer to check that the sugar mixture reaches the soft-ball stage (235F-240F) if you do not have a timer, though the 5-minute boil is a reliable guideline.

You can substitute the almond bark with vanilla white chocolate chips if preferred, but ensure they are melted smoothly.
