Marble Cheesecake
Description
This Marble Cheesecake is a stunning dessert that balances the creamy tang of traditional New York-style cheesecake with the deep, comforting flavor of chocolate. The visual appeal comes from the delicate swirls of cocoa-infused batter dancing through the vanilla base, creating a beautiful marbled effect in every slice. With a buttery graham cracker crust providing a crunchy contrast to the smooth, dense filling, this cake is perfect for birthdays, holidays, or any special gathering where you want to impress guests. It requires a bit of patience with the cooling process to ensure a crack-free top, but the result is a luxurious, indulgent treat that disappears quickly.Ingredients
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
-
For the crust: Combine graham cracker crumbs, 2 tablespoons sugar, and melted butter in a bowl. Mix until the consistency of wet sand.
-
Press the mixture firmly onto the bottom and slightly up the sides (about 1/2 inch) of a 9-inch springform pan.
-
Bake the crust for 8-10 minutes. Remove and let cool completely while preparing the filling.
-
Increase oven temperature to 450°F (230°C).
-
In a large mixer bowl, beat the cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar, sour cream, and 2 teaspoons vanilla on medium speed until smooth.
-
Add flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, blending well after each addition.
-
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition until just combined.
-
In a small bowl, combine cocoa powder, 1/4 cup sugar, vegetable oil, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until smooth.
-
Stir 1 1/2 cups of the cream cheese mixture into the chocolate mixture until well blended.
-
Spoon half of the plain cream cheese mixture into the prepared crust.
-
Spoon the chocolate mixture over the plain mixture.
-
Top with the remaining plain mixture.
-
Gently swirl a knife through the layers to create a marbled effect.
-
Bake at 450°F (232°C) for 10 minutes without opening the oven door.
-
Reduce oven temperature to 250°F (120°C) and continue baking for 30 minutes. Do not open the oven door during this time.
-
Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake remain inside for 30 minutes with the door closed.
-
Remove cheesecake from the oven. Loosen the sides with a knife.
-
Cool completely on a wire rack, then refrigerate thoroughly before serving.
