Pat's Apple Coffeecake recipe image

This Pat’s Apple Coffeecake is a comforting, yeast-raised treat that bridges the gap between bread and dessert. Unlike quick-bread coffee cakes, this version uses a yeast dough that rises twice, resulting in an incredibly soft, fluffy crumb. The batter is enriched with butter and eggs, creating a tender base that supports three cups of apple slices. As it bakes, the apples soften and meld with a sweet, aromatic topping of cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar. It’s perfect for weekend breakfasts, afternoon coffee breaks, or as a homemade gift. The subtle tang of the yeast complements the sweetness of the fruit, offering a sophisticated yet home-style flavor profile that warms the kitchen while it bakes.
