Note
For the most authentic flavor, use Crisco shortening for frying, as it closely mimics the fast-food original. Vegetable oil works as a substitute if preferred.
Be careful when prying open the fried tacos, as they can be fragile. A dull butter knife works well to create a gap without tearing the shell.
