Ingredients

Brufax Yeast Flakes Pkt.
4 thick pork chops 1-2oz butter
4 tsp Brufax Flakes black pepper
3-4 large cooking apples juice of 1 lemon

Directions

Arrange the thick pork chops in a baking dish. Place thin, peeled slices of apple over the chops.

Melt the butter and brush some over the apple slices. Sprinkle with lemon juice.

Cover the dish tightly with foil and cook at 350 F (160 C) for 1 hour.

Remove the foil, brush the apples with the remaining butter, and cook uncovered for a further 10 minutes.

Brufax is a brand of natural food yeast flakes (pasteurized). If unavailable, you can omit or use nutritional yeast for a similar savory note.

For best results, use firm cooking apples like Granny Smith or Bramley to prevent them from becoming mushy.
