Note
Storage: Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The sauce may thicken further as it cools; add a splash of water or wine to restore desired consistency.
Substitutions: If Burgundy is unavailable, any dry red wine works well. For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the wine and whiskey with additional beef broth or water.
Usage Tips: This sauce is excellent for basting steaks or ribs during the last 10 minutes of grilling to prevent burning. It can also be used as a marinade for beef jerky or stir-fry beef strips.
Note on Ingredients: The recipe lists 7 lbs of steak, but the sauce quantities provided are more suitable for a glaze or marinade for approximately 2-3 lbs of meat. Adjust sauce volume accordingly if marinating larger batches.
