Note
To prevent the apple slices from browning, toss them lightly with a bit of the orange juice or lemon juice before adding them to the salad.
For a milder onion flavor, soak the sliced red onion in cold water for 10 minutes, then drain and pat dry before adding to the salad.
This salad is best served fresh. If preparing ahead, keep the dressing separate and toss just before serving to maintain crunch.
