Note
For a richer flavor, you can substitute half-and-half for the sour cream, but add it at the very end and do not boil to prevent curdling.
If you don't have dried rosemary, fresh thyme or a pinch of paprika works well as a substitute.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of broth if the sauce thickens too much.
This recipe is designed for the microwave, but you can also make the sauce on the stovetop in a skillet. Melt butter, sauté onions, add flour, then slowly whisk in broth until thickened before adding remaining ingredients.
