Description

This versatile recipe captures the essence of traditional German baking, allowing you to create both soft, chewy fresh-baked pretzels and crunchy hard pretzels from a single dough base. The secret lies in the hydration level and baking time. Soft pretzels are perfect warm with mustard or cheese sauce, offering a tender crumb and crisp crust. Hard pretzels provide a satisfying crunch, ideal for snacking or pairing with beer. Using simple pantry staples like flour, yeast, and salt, this dish delivers authentic flavor without complex techniques. The egg wash ensures a beautiful golden-brown sheen, while coarse salt adds the perfect savory finish. Whether for a casual snack or a festive gathering, these homemade pretzels bring a delightful, artisanal touch to your table.
