Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350&# 194;°F (175ðC).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of the softened butter. Mix until the texture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press the flour mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x2 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake the crust for 12 to 15 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle miniature marshmallows evenly over the hot crust.
  6. Return the pan to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes, just until the marshmallows begin to melt and puff. Remove and set aside.
  7. While the crust bakes, place peanut butter chips, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and the remaining 1/4 cup butter in a large saucepan.
  8. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until the chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  9. Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the crispy rice cereal and salted peanuts until evenly coated.
  10. Pour the peanut mixture over the marshmallow-topped crust, spreading it gently to cover the entire surface.
  11. Allow the bars to cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares.
