-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
-
Cook lasagne noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
-
Add the chopped onion to the beef and cook until softened.
-
Stir in the tomato paste, garlic salt, oregano, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper. Add enough water or broth to create a sauce consistency.
-
Simmer the sauce for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow flavors to meld.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, eggs, and half of the grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well.
-
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish.
-
Layer with half of the noodles, followed by half of the meat sauce.
-
Spread the entire cheese mixture over the meat sauce.
-
Add the remaining noodles and top with the remaining meat sauce.
-
Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese and remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
-
Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and cheese is golden.
-
Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
