Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350&# 194;°F (175ðC) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. Prepare the devil's food cake mix according to package directions, substituting 1 1/3 cups of cola for the required water.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, slice the cake horizontally through the middle to create two even layers.
  7. In a large bowl, beat the butter at medium speed until light and fluffy.
  8. Gradually add the confectioners' sugar and powdered chocolate drink mix, beating until combined.
  9. Add the remaining 1/3 cup of cola and vanilla, mixing well until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  10. Spread half of the frosting evenly over the bottom cake layer.
  11. Place the top cake layer over the frosting.
  12. Spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
  13. Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  14. Dip the ripe strawberries halfway into the melted chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  15. Refrigerate the strawberries for 10-15 minutes until the chocolate sets.
  16. Arrange the chocolate-dipped strawberries on top of the frosted cake before serving.
