Preheat griddle or electric fry pan to 325F (163&# 194;°C).

Sift the first 4 ingredients into a bowl.

Cut in the butter until it is like coarse meal.

Stir in the currants, eggs, and vanilla.

Work dough together into a ball.

Roll out on a floured board to 1/4 inch thick.
