Description

This International sauce features Bag (12 oz?) cranberries, Med. apples, pared and chopp, Orange juice, Ground cloves. The flavors come together beautifully. A reliable recipe that works well for everyday cooking. Simple to make with ingredients you likely already have on hand, this is a recipe you will come back to again and again.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine all, bring to a boil, stirring.
  2. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly, about 8 mins - berries will `pop' and sauce will thicken.
  3. Chill.
  4. If you want it sweeter, you might want to try apple juice instead of orange juice.
  5. We also like it with a handfil of chopped nuts - pecans preferrably, with walnuts a second choice.
  6. I have also thrown coconut (unsweetened) in it - although others liked it, we weren't that crazy about it.
  7. We eat cranberry sauce year around.
  8. I buy 15 - 20 bags during the holidays and pop them in the freezer for later use.
  9. Cook 'em frozen.
  10. They are great in bread/muffins, too
