Directions
-
In a large saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
-
Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the frozen orange juice concentrate and frozen lemonade concentrate until fully melted and combined.
-
Allow the syrup to cool slightly so it is warm but not boiling hot.
-
In a very large mixing bowl, combine the watermelon balls, crenshaw melon chunks, cantaloupe chunks, peach chunks, green grapes, and blueberries.
-
Gently toss the fruit mixture to ensure all pieces are evenly distributed.
-
Divide the fruit mixture evenly among twelve 1-pint freezer-safe containers, leaving approximately 1/2 inch of headspace at the top of each container.
-
Pour the warm citrus syrup over the fruit in each container, ensuring the fruit is well-coated.
-
Seal the containers tightly with lids. Label them "Freddi's Fruit Cocktail Mix" with the date.
-
Place the containers in the freezer. Freeze until solid, for up to 6 to 8 months.
-
To serve, partially thaw one pint of the mix for about 15-20 minutes.
-
Spoon the thawed fruit into serving cups.
-
If desired, pour a splash of ginger ale over the top for a fizzy dessert float.
