  1. Rinse lentils, drain.
  2. In a large saucepan combine lentils, water, soupmix, garlic and cumin.
  3. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add chickpeas; simmer 5 - 10 minutes or until lentils are tender.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley
