Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pan fry the ground pork and ground beef together in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat until all of the meat is well done and browned. Drain excess fat if desired.
  2. While the meat cooks, place the bell pepper, onion, garlic, and fresh cayenne peppers into a food processor. Pulse until nearly liquefied.
  3. Add the processed vegetable mixture to the cooked meat in the skillet. Stir well to combine. The pepper/onion/garlic mixture should sizzle as it hits the hot meat.
  4. Once the sizzling fades, stir in the mushroom steak sauce, salt, and red pepper flakes. Add a little water if the mixture seems too thick.
  5. Allow the dressing mix to simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, to let the flavors meld.
  6. Add the cooked rice to the skillet. Stir thoroughly until the rice is evenly coated with the sauce and appears very brown ("dirty"). Adjust seasoning with more salt if needed. Serve hot.
