Ingredients

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add ground sirloin and ground porterhouse; cook until browned, breaking up meat with a spoon.
  3. Add onions, leeks, celery, bell peppers, and minced garlic; sauté until fragrant and vegetables are softened.
  4. Add mushrooms and fresh tomatoes; cook for a few minutes until mushrooms release their liquid.
  5. Pour in no salt added tomatoes, tomato sauce, low salt chicken broth, and water.
  6. Stir in oregano, thyme, white pepper, dried cilantro, dried parsley, sugar, and bay leaves.
  7. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce thickens to desired consistency.
  8. Remove bay leaves and season to taste.
