Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Grease a baking sheet with Butter Flavor Crisco or line with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the Butter Flavor Crisco, firmly packed light brown sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. Beat the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy and well blended.
  5. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the Quaker Quik Oats, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix on low speed just until combined; do not overmix.
  7. Stir in the raisins and coarsely chopped walnuts by hand.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and the centers look set.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack or kitchen counter to cool completely.
  11. For Half-Dipped Cookies: Omit raisins and nuts. After baking and cooling, microwave 1 cup of Dutch Fudge Frosting for 20-25 seconds until smooth. Dip the top half of each cookie in the frosting and place on waxed paper to set.
  12. For Chip Cookies: Omit raisins and nuts. Add 1 cup of baking chips to the batter before baking.
  13. For Maple Walnut Cookies: Omit raisins. Add 1-1/2 teaspoons of maple flavoring to the batter. After baking and cooling, frost with a mixture of vanilla frosting and 1 tsp maple flavoring, garnishing with a walnut half.
