Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350ðF (175ðC). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the devil's food cake mix with 1 1/3 cups of the cola. Mix according to package directions until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Remove from oven and invert the cake onto a wire rack. Allow it to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, slice the cake horizontally through the middle to create two layers.
  7. In a large bowl, beat the butter on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  8. Gradually add the confectioners sugar and powdered chocolate drink mix to the butter, mixing well.
  9. Add the remaining 1/3 cup of cola and vanilla extract. Beat until the frosting is smooth and spreadable.
  10. Spread half of the frosting over the bottom layer of the cake.
  11. Place the top layer of cake onto the frosted bottom layer.
  12. Spread the remaining frosting over the top and sides of the cake.
  13. Melt the chocolate chips in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
  14. Dip the strawberries halfway into the melted chocolate and place them on a parchment-lined tray. Chill in the refrigerator until set.
  15. Arrange one chocolate-dipped strawberry on top of each serving slice when ready to serve.
