Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place the plain chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of gently simmering water.
  2. Add the orange juice to the chocolate and stir occasionally until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the bowl from the heat and stir in the butter, orange-flavored liqueur, and egg yolks until well combined.
  4. Whisk the egg whites in a clean bowl until they form stiff peaks.
  5. Gently fold the whipped egg whites into the chocolate mixture using a spatula, being careful not to deflate the mixture.
  6. Pour the mousse mixture into a glass serving bowl or individual ramekins.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator for at least two hours, or until the mousse is set.
  8. Spoon the whipped double cream into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
  9. Pipe decorative swirls of cream around the top of the chilled mousse.
  10. Garnish the dessert with strips of orange rind and grated chocolate, alternating them around the cream.
