Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350ðF (175ðC).
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir the spaghetti sauce into the cooked beef and simmer for 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
  4. Cook the lasagne noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and lay them flat on foil or paper towels to cool and prevent sticking.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the shredded mozzarella, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 2 beaten eggs, 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. Mix well.
  6. Spread about 1/3 cup of the meat sauce evenly over the bottom of a 13x9-inch glass baking dish.
  7. Arrange 4 lasagne noodles lengthwise over the sauce, overlapping the edges slightly to cover the bottom of the dish.
  8. Spread one-third of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by about 3/4 cup of the meat sauce.
  9. Repeat the layers twice more: noodles, cheese mixture, and meat sauce.
  10. Top the final layer of noodles with the remaining meat sauce and sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and additional Parmesan if desired.
  11. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  12. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
  13. Let the lasagne stand for 10 minutes before slicing to allow it to set.
