Soak dried red beans in water to cover overnight.

Drain and rinse the soaked beans thoroughly.

Place beans in a heavy pot such as a Dutch oven.

Add the ham bone (trim off excess fat), onions, bell pepper, celery, parsley, garlic, thyme, salt, sugar, red pepper, Tabasco, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, and ketchup.
