This Holiday Harlequin Fudge is a visually stunning treat perfect for the season. Ingredients

Directions

  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, brandy (or pineapple juice), sour cream, butter, and salt.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add the marshmallows, stirring until completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate bits until melted and incorporated.
  6. Pour half of the chocolate mixture into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. In a separate bowl, melt the white chocolate chips using short bursts in the microwave or a double boiler.
  8. Fold the chopped walnuts and candied cherries into the remaining plain marshmallow mixture (or mix into the white chocolate if preferred for color contrast).
  9. Drop spoonfuls of the second mixture onto the chocolate base in the pan.
  10. Use a knife to gently swirl the two mixtures together to create a harlequin diamond pattern, being careful not to overmix.
  11. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  12. Lift out of the pan using the parchment overhang and cut into squares with a sharp knife.

Note

Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks, or in the refrigerator for up to 1 month. Bring to room temperature before serving for best texture.

If you prefer a non-alcoholic version, pineapple juice works well as a substitute for brandy, adding a tropical note that complements the cherries.

For a cleaner marbled pattern, ensure the melted chocolate mixture has cooled slightly before swirling. Use a clean knife for each cut to ensure neat squares.
