Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ðF (200ðC).
  2. Grease a 10-inch pie plate (approximately 1 1/2 inches deep) with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Place the green beans in a saucepan and cover with 1 inch of salted water (use 1/2 teaspoon salt per cup of water).
  4. Bring the water to a boil and cook uncovered for 5 minutes.
  5. Cover the pot and continue cooking until the beans are tender-crisp, about 5 to 10 minutes more. Drain well.
  6. In a large bowl, combine the drained green beans, mushrooms, chopped onion, crushed garlic, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. In a separate bowl or blender, beat the eggs, milk, Bisquick mix, salt, and pepper until smooth. If using a blender, blend on high for 15 seconds; if using a hand beater, beat for 1 minute.
  8. Pour the batter mixture over the vegetable and cheese mixture in the pie plate.
  9. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted between the center and the edge comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
  10. Let the pie cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
