Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shallots and garlic, sautéing for 1 minute until slightly softened.
  3. Stir in lemon rind, parsley, shrimp, and scallops.
  4. Sauté until shrimp turn pink and scallops are translucent, about 1-2 minutes.

  6. Season the skillet contents with salt and pepper.
  7. Pour white wine into the skillet, bring to a boil, and add mussels.

  13. Stir in 2 tablespoons of basil and simmer for 10 minutes to combine flavors.
  14. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.

Note

Vary the seafood according to your tastes and availability.

For a vegetarian version, sauté mushrooms and peppers instead of seafood and add them to the tomato sauce.

Traditionally, grated parmesan cheese is not offered with seafood dishes.

The sauce can be prepared ahead of time up to the simmering step. Store in the refrigerator and reheat before adding the seafood and pasta.

Serve pasta and sauce in a large bowl on the table and let people help themselves.
