Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove the rind from the bacon and grill or fry until crisp, then cut into small pieces.
  2. Sieve the self-raising flour and salt together into a mixing bowl.
  3. Rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  4. Add 3 ounces of the grated cheese, all the chopped bacon, and the chopped parsley to the flour mixture.
  5. In a small jug, mix together the milk, tomato ketchup, and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix to form a soft dough.
  7. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out into a round approximately 7 inches in diameter.
  8. Brush the top of the dough with a little milk and sprinkle with the remaining 1 ounce of cheese.
  9. Use a sharp knife to mark the round into 8 wedges without cutting all the way through.
  10. Place the round on a greased baking sheet.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 400&# 194;°F (200ðC) for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
