Description

This International main features Almonds -- whole, Honey, Teaspoon. grated orange peel, teaspoon. ground cinnamon, teaspoon. ground allspice. It delivers sweet, indulgent flavor. Great for weeknight dinners or when you want something satisfying for the whole family. Simple to make with ingredients you likely already have on hand, this is a recipe you will come back to again and again.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 deg.F. Arrange almonds on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast in oven for 10 minutes. Cool and finely chop (I'll use food processor). Meanwhile, combine honey, orange zest, cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Add almonds, apricots and dates - mix well. Pinch off rounded teaspoon size pieces of the mixture and roll into balls. (Rinse your hands often, as mixture tends to be sticky). Roll balls in sugar then refrigerate in single layers between 2 layers of wax paper in airtight containers for up to one month. They taste better if allowed to sit for several days to let the flavors merge. These are also affectionately referred to as "Biker's Bonbons". This recipe was in this month's issue ot "Saveur" Magazine and they looked really good and fairly easy to make. Makes about 75 bon bons. MC
  2. chopped dried apricots
