  1. Combine the graham-cracker crumbs, crust sugar, and enough melted butter to bind the crumbs.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a springform pan and chill while preparing the filling.
  3. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until incorporated.
  5. Blend in the cooled melted butter and orange extract.
  6. Pour the filling into the crust.
  7. Bake at about 325°F (163°C) until the edges are set and the center remains slightly soft.
  8. Cool completely and refrigerate several hours before serving.
