Directions

  1. Scald milk, add fat and sugar.
  2. Cool to lukewarm.
  3. Add yeast dissolved in a little warm water.
  4. Add salt and part of flour.
  5. Beat until it forms bubbles.
  6. Add rest of flour and knead into soft dough.
  7. Let rise.
  8. Shape into rolls, let rise again.
  9. Bake partly through, remove from oven and brush with beaten egg diluted with water.
  10. Sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake to golden brown
