This iconic Cincinnati-style chili is a symphony of sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, distinct from traditional Texas chili thanks to its unique spice blend and serving style. Ground chuck is simmered with onions, garlic, and a robust mix of spices including cinnamon, allspice, and cloves, enriched with a touch of unsweetened chocolate and barbeque sauce. The result is a thick, aromatic sauce that is traditionally served in layers over cooked spaghetti, topped with kidney beans, raw chopped onions, and a generous mound of shredded cheddar cheese. It’s a hearty, comforting meal perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings, offering a unique twist on classic comfort food that tastes even better the next day.
