Saucy Beef Taco Pizza
Description
This Saucy Beef Taco Pizza is the ultimate comfort food mashup, combining the savory richness of a taco with the ease of a pizza. The base is made from refrigerated crescent rolls pressed into a golden, flaky crust, layered with crunchy crushed corn chips for added texture. The filling is a robust mixture of ground beef, onions, mild green chilies, and your choice of mild or hot taco sauce. Topped with a creamy sour cream layer and a generous blend of Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, this dish bakes until bubbly and aromatic. It’s perfect for busy weeknight dinners, game day gatherings, or anytime you crave a satisfying, protein-packed meal that feels like a hug in every bite. Serve with fresh lettuce, avocado, and tomato for a refreshing contrast.Directions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a large frying pan or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink.
-
Pour off excess drippings from the pan.
-
Stir in 1 cup of taco sauce, the drained green chilies, and sliced olives (if using). Cook for 2-3 minutes to combine flavors, then set aside.
-
Grease a 9 to 10-inch pie pan.
-
Separate the refrigerated crescent rolls into 8 triangles. Press them together in the bottom of the prepared pan to form a single crust layer, sealing the seams.
-
Sprinkle 1 cup of the crushed corn chips evenly over the dough crust.
-
Spread the beef mixture evenly over the layer of corn chips.
-
Spread the sour cream evenly over the beef mixture.
-
Sprinkle the shredded Monterey Jack cheese and Cheddar cheese evenly over the sour cream.
-
Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of crushed corn chips on top of the cheese.
-
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
-
Cut into wedges.
-
Serve immediately, garnished with sliced avocado, diced tomato, shredded lettuce, and additional taco sauce if desired.
