The cayenne and Tabasco add an extra kick for those who love spice. Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine the Durkee Red Hot hot sauce, honey, butter, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and Tabasco in a small saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan over low heat and stir continuously until the butter is completely melted and all ingredients are well mixed.
  3. Let the sauce simmer gently on low heat for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend and the sauce to darken slightly.
  4. Once cooked, remove from heat. Pour the warm sauce over cooked wings in a large bowl and toss thoroughly to coat evenly.

Note

Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

For milder heat, reduce the cayenne pepper and Tabasco. For extra heat, add more cayenne.

This sauce yields enough to coat approximately 2 pounds of chicken wings.

You can substitute Durkee Red Hot with Frank's RedHot if unavailable.
