Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Durkee Red Hot (used to be franks louisana hot sauce)
- 1.5 Tb honey
- 1 Tb butter
- 1 Tb white wine vinegar
- 1 Tb lemon juice
- .5 tsp cayenne pepper
- .5 tsp tobasco
Directions
- 1 Combine the Durkee Red Hot hot sauce, honey, butter, white wine vinegar, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, and Tabasco in a small saucepan.

Place the saucepan over low heat and stir continuously until the butter is completely melted and all ingredients are well mixed.- 3
Let the sauce simmer gently on low heat for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to blend and the sauce to darken slightly.- 4
Once cooked, remove from heat. Pour the warm sauce over cooked wings in a large bowl and toss thoroughly to coat evenly.NoteStore leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
For milder heat, reduce the cayenne pepper and Tabasco. For extra heat, add more cayenne.
This sauce yields enough to coat approximately 2 pounds of chicken wings.
You can substitute Durkee Red Hot with Frank's RedHot if unavailable.
