Description

This Strawberry Tiramisu reimagines the classic Italian dessert with a burst of fresh fruit. It combines a rich, creamy filling made from cream cheese and vanilla pudding with layers of coffee-dipped ladyfingers and sweet, juicy strawberries. The dish offers a delightful contrast of textures: the soft, yielding cake, the smooth mousse-like cream, and the slight crunch of grated bittersweet chocolate. It is an elegant yet simple make-ahead dessert that is perfect for summer gatherings, romantic dinners, or holiday celebrations. Because it requires chilling time, it is ideal for preparing in advance, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully before serving.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually blend in 1/2 cup of the milk and half of the coffee.
  3. Add the vanilla pudding powder and the remaining milk to the mixture.
  4. Beat until the mixture is smooth and thoroughly combined.
  5. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until just incorporated.
  6. Arrange a layer of ladyfingers in the bottom of a clear glass bowl or serving dish.
  7. Brush the ladyfingers with half of the remaining coffee.
  8. Layer half of the sliced strawberries over the ladyfingers.
  9. Spoon half of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
  10. Sprinkle with some of the grated bittersweet chocolate.
  11. Repeat the layers: another layer of ladyfingers brushed with coffee, remaining strawberries, remaining cream mixture, and chocolate.
  12. Cover the top with the remaining grated chocolate.
  13. Garnish with sliced fresh strawberries and a sprig of fresh mint.
  14. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Note

Storage: Keep the tiramisu covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. The ladyfingers will soften further as it sits, so it is best served within 24 hours for optimal texture.

Coffee Tip: Use strong brewed coffee that has been cooled completely before brushing onto the ladyfingers to prevent the dessert from becoming too soggy too quickly.

Chocolate: For easier grating, freeze the bittersweet chocolate bar for 15 minutes before using a cheese grater or microplane.

Variation: You can substitute the coffee with espresso for a stronger flavor, or use decaffeinated coffee if preferred.

Serving: This dessert is best served chilled. Let it sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before serving to soften the cream slightly for easier scooping.
