Description

These Super Good Spareribs are a crowd-pleasing main dish that delivers tender, fall-off-the-bone pork coated in a glossy, sticky glaze. The sauce combines the richness of brown sugar with the savory depth of soy sauce and a hint of garlic powder, creating a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors. Ideal for family dinners, potlucks, or weekend cooking sessions, these ribs are baked until tender and then finished with a thickened, aromatic sauce that clings to every bite. Simple ingredients come together to create a restaurant-quality meal right in your own kitchen.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350&# 194;°F (175ðC).
  2. Place the spareribs in a large roasting pan or baking dish. Add 1 cup of water to the pan to create steam during cooking.
  3. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil or a lid to trap moisture.
  4. Bake the ribs for 1 hour, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.
  5. While the ribs cook, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic powder, soy sauce, and 1 cup of water until smooth.
  6. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly.
  7. Continue stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, which should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  8. Remove the foil from the roasting pan. Discard any excess liquid from the bottom of the pan if desired, or leave it for extra flavor.
  9. Pour the thickened glaze evenly over the hot ribs.
  10. Return the ribs to the oven uncovered for an additional 20 minutes, basting with the sauce every 5-7 minutes to build a sticky, caramelized coating.
  11. Remove from the oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then cut between the bones and serve.

Note

For extra flavor, you can add minced fresh garlic, ginger, or a splash of rice vinegar to the glaze.

If the sauce burns during baking, cover loosely with foil for the remaining time.

Leftover ribs can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 300ðF to maintain texture.

For a richer sauce, substitute half of the water with chicken or beef broth.
