  7. Quickly stir in 1/2 cup of coarsely chopped pecans.
  8. Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture into a buttered 13x9x2-inch pan.
  9. Allow the toffee to firm for 2 to 3 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of finely chopped pecans over the toffee surface.
  11. Sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the nuts.
  12. Chill the bars until the chocolate is firm, then break into pieces.
