Note
If you do not have pre-made dashi stock, you can substitute it with 2 cups of hot water mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of dashi powder or granules.
This sauce thickens as it cools. If it becomes too thick after refrigeration, simply warm it gently and add a splash of water to reach your desired consistency.
Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Serve this sauce warm alongside grilled tofu, steamed broccoli, or edamame. A small dollop of wasabi paste adds a nice spicy kick if desired.
