For a richer flavor, you can substitute fresh basil and thyme leaves for the dried herbs, using about 1 tablespoon of fresh basil and 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme.
This sauce freezes well. Allow it to cool completely before transferring to airtight containers. It will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
