In a saucepan, combine sugar, sour cream, milk, butter, corn syrup, and salt.

Cook over medium

heat to 238 degrees (240 if weather is damp) this is softball stage, about 9-10 minutes.

Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour or until lukewarm - 110 degrees.

Add vanilla and beat until it begins to lose it's gloss and holds it's shape.
