Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let stand until foamy, about 5-10 minutes.
  2. Add white bread flour, thyme, dry milk, basil, sugar, butter, salt, chives, and marjoram to the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  6. Punch down dough and shape as desired (loaves, rolls, or batons).
  7. Cover and let rise again until nearly doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 375F (190C).
  9. Bake until golden brown and bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom, about 25-30 minutes.
  10. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
