Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place chicken breasts between plastic wrap and pound until thin and even, about half an inch thick.
  2. Season both sides of the chicken generously with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  3. Heat unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until foaming.
  4. Add chicken breasts to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside on a plate.
  6. Reduce heat to medium and add dark brown sugar, Southern Comfort whiskey, and orange juice to the same pan.
  7. Stir constantly, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan, and simmer for 2-3 minutes until the alcohol evaporates and the mixture thickens slightly.
  8. Pour in the chicken stock and simmer for another 2 minutes until the sauce reduces by half and coats the back of a spoon.
  9. Return chicken to the pan, turning to coat evenly in the glaze.
  10. Garnish with thin orange slices, pressing them gently into the sauce on top of the chicken.
  11. Transfer chicken to serving plates and spoon the remaining pan sauce over the top.
  12. Serve immediately while hot.
