Ingredients

Directions

  1. Peel and mash the baking potatoes until smooth, then mix in the flour, whole egg, egg yolk, softened butter, and salt to form a gnocchi dough.
  2. Roll the dough into ropes and cut into small gnocchi pieces.
  3. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the fusilli until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, bring a new batch of water to a boil and cook the gnocchi until they float to the surface, then remove with a slotted spoon.
  5. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and dredge chicken pieces in flour mixed with salt and pepper.
  6. Sear the chicken pieces in the skillet until golden brown on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  7. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic in butter until softened and fragrant.
  8. Deglaze the pan with white wine, scraping up any browned bits, and cook for one minute.
  9. Add chicken broth to the skillet, return the chicken, and bring to a gentle simmer.
  10. Cover and cook the chicken for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
  11. Stir in heavy cream and frozen peas, heating through for 2 minutes.
  12. Ladle the hot chicken and broth mixture over the cooked fusilli and gnocchi in serving bowls.
  13. Garnish with freshly grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, and red pepper flakes.
