Description

This International appetizer features Jar gifilte fish; good brand, Beets, Carrots, Onions. It delivers aromatic, well-seasoned taste. Ideal for parties, potlucks, or as a starter before the main course. Simple to make with ingredients you likely already have on hand, this is a recipe you will come back to again and again.

  2. slice the carrots, beets and onions.
  3. Layer in a heavy stock pot, the beets (my Bubbe's secret ingredient), slices of fish, onions, carrots and seasonings; repeat as many times as is necessary with EVERYTHING but the beets.
  4. Pour the liquid from the jar over the fish and then bring to a boil.
  5. Turn down as simmer for about 45 minutes.
  6. Cool, remove from liquid and serve.
  7. This tastes ALMOST a good as the real thingtry it you'll like it.
