Directions
-
Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
-
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, dried basil, and garlic powder to create the seasoning mixture.
-
Slice the French bread lengthwise to create two long halves.
-
Brush 1 1/2 tablespoons of the basil-garlic oil mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
-
Slice the tomatoes into 3/4-inch thick rounds.
-
Brush the remaining basil-garlic oil mixture onto one side of each tomato slice.
-
Place the T-bone steaks on the hot grill. Grill for 10 to 14 minutes, turning once, until desired doneness is reached (rare to medium).
-
Season the steaks with salt and pepper to taste.
-
About 5 minutes before the steaks are done, place the bread cut-side down on the grill.
-
Place the tomatoes on the grill, oil-side down.
-
Grill the bread and tomatoes for 2 to 3 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the tomatoes are charred on one side.
-
Flip the bread and tomatoes over.
-
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the grilled side of the bread.
-
Grill for another 1 to 2 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread is crispy on both sides.
-
Remove everything from the grill.
-
Slice the French bread diagonally into serving pieces.
-
Carve the steaks into thick slices against the grain.
-
Serve the sliced steaks alongside the grilled tomato slices and cheesy garlic bread.

Note
For best results, let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain their juices.
If you don't have a grill, you can sear the steaks and tomatoes in a cast-iron skillet and toast the bread in the oven or under the broiler.
Substitute fresh basil leaves for the dried basil if available, using about 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh basil instead of 1 teaspoon dried.
Choose firm, ripe tomatoes for grilling to prevent them from falling apart on the grate.
