Ground Turkey Meat Loaf
Description
This ground turkey meatloaf is a comforting, family-friendly dinner that balances lean protein with rich flavors. By incorporating grated zucchini and finely chopped onions, the loaf stays incredibly moist without feeling heavy. The blend of thyme, oregano, and garlic adds an earthy depth, while the Worcestershire sauce and mustard provide a savory kick. Topped with a classic ketchup glaze, it bakes to a tender, sliceable perfection. Its an easy weeknight meal that pairs beautifully with roasted potatoes or steamed vegetables, offering a healthier twist on a traditional favorite.Ingredients
Directions
-
Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
-
Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
-
Place grated zucchini in a fine-mesh strainer set over a bowl. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of salt, toss, and let stand for 30 minutes to draw out moisture.
-
Using your hands, firmly squeeze the zucchini to remove as much liquid as possible.
-
In a large mixing bowl, combine the squeezed zucchini, chopped onions, egg white, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, crushed garlic, remaining 1 teaspoon salt, black pepper, thyme, and oregano.
-
Add the ground turkey and bread crumbs to the bowl.
-
Mix everything thoroughly with your hands until just combined; do not overmix.
-
Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, packing it down firmly and evenly.
-
Smooth the top of the loaf with the back of a spoon.
-
Brush the remaining 1/3 cup ketchup evenly over the top of the loaf to create a glaze.
-
Bake for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165F (74C) and the loaf is firm to the touch.
-
Remove from oven and let rest on a wire rack for 10 minutes before slicing.
